Paul Bohn, Arthur J. Schmitt Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and joint Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry, has been designated a Fellow of the Society by the Society for Applied Spectroscopy (SAS). Bohn will be formally recognized as a Fellow at the 2012 SAS annual meeting this Fall.
Bohn studies chemical and biochemical measurement science, focusing on mass-limited samples that range from a single molecule to a few million molecules in size. The challenge is to design and build instruments with the requisite precision to control the samples in space and time on the nanometer length scale, which can be applied to sensors, molecular separations, and advanced materials.
The Society for Applied Spectroscopy is a non-profit organization dedicated to the dissemination of information related to spectroscopy. The Society advances and disseminates knowledge and information concerning the art and science of spectroscopy and other allied sciences, and are the publishers of the internationally recognized, peer reviewed journal Applied Spectroscopy. The annual meeting is held in conjunction with the Scix Meeting presented by the Federation of Analytical Chemistry and Spectroscopy Societies (FACSS) each Fall.
