The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry is pleased to announce the promotions of Bahram Moasser to Teaching Professor and Evgenii Kovrigin to Research Professor.

Bahram Moasser

Bahram Moasser joined the department in 2016 as an Associate Teaching Professor after holding positions at GE Global Research Center and Georgetown University. His promotion to Teaching Professor reflects his stellar reputation as an exemplary educator and mentor to undergraduate students. He was also awarded the 2023 Rev. Edmund P. Joyce, C.S.C., Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching. Bahram received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and his A.B. degree from Cornell University.

Evgenii Kovrigin

Evgenii Kovrigin came to Notre Dame in 2018 as the Director of the Magnetic Resonance Research Center. An expert in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, Evgenii not only maintains the center’s seven spectrometers, but also provides training and support for departmental researchers and develops programs and software for NMR data analysis. Evgenii received his Ph.D. from Engelhardt Institute of Molecular Biology, his M.Sci. in from Moscow State University, and his B. Sci. from Krasnoyarsk State University.
