Postdoctoral
A full-time postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Biological Screening and Development Core (BSDC) in the Warren Family Center for Drug Discovery (WFCDD) at the University of Notre Dame. The laboratory investigates the molecular mechanism of cancers as well as neurodegeneration and the development of small molecule inhibitors against those diseases. Day-to-day tasks will include conducting experiments, analyzing data, and presenting research results at regular lab meetings, conferences, writing manuscripts for publications etc.
Qualifications: The laboratory seeks creative and passionate team players, with a strong desire to impact human health and drug discovery. Motivated candidates will have recently completed graduate studies in a PhD or MD/PhD program with a strong background in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Pharmacology. The fellow will investigate novel mechanistic signaling pathways in cancer and neurodegeneration. Candidates with experience in molecular biology and cell signaling and drug discovery are encouraged to apply. Proven technical skills in molecular biology, cell culture, signal transduction, gene and protein expression, and murine models of cancer as well as ADMET studies are required.
The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time appropriately. The candidate will work both independently and as part of a team and should be a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple activities, while conducting individual research and disseminating results. Must be able to work and communicate effectively with faculty, students, administrative assistants, and other personnel.
