Interview with Kate the Chemist

Dr. Kate Biberdorf, Associate Professor of Instruction at the University of Texas at Austin, recently delivered the College of Science’s annual Christmas Lecture to an enraptured audience in Jordan Hall. Also known as Kate the Chemist, she gives demonstration-packed presentations to audiences of all ages, believing that being able to see chemistry happen provides opportunities for all types of learners to better understand science. Her passion for approachable teaching has garnered her over 100,000 Instagram followers along with television appearances on CNN, NBC Nightly News, the Today Show, and CBS among others. Prior to her lecture, she sat down with Jenna Liberto, host of Notre Dame Stories, to discuss her passion for teaching and making science accessible.
