Chemistry senior Katherine Grant (shown here) is a co-author with Notre Dame geoscientist Prof. Patricia Maurice on a paper just published in the journal Environmental Science and Technology. The paper focuses on how Pb(II) in water binds to nanoparticles of the iron mineral hematite and whether a microbial metal chelating ligand could affect Pb binding.
