Professor Xavier Creary wins Shilts/Leonard Award

Xavier Creary from the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry has been awarded the Shilts/Leonard Award for 2007. The Shilts/Leonard award is the premier teaching award within the College of Science at the University of Notre Dame. The award was instituted in 1983 to memorialize Rev. James L. Shilts, a longtime Notre Dame astronomy and astrophysics professor who died in 1982. The award was endowed by Eugene T. Leonard, a surgeon and 1940 alumnus of the University.
