Challenges in Diagnosis and Management of Food Allergies
Christina E. Ciaccio, MD. MSc.
Dr. Ciaccio provides care for children and adults with food and environmental allergies, allergic rhinitis, urticaria and angioedema, allergic rashes, and asthma. Her research is focused on understanding how nutrition (prebiotics) and microbial exposures (probiotics) affect immunoglobulin E (IgE) sensitization. She is currently working with other researchers to build a translational research program that will help influence preventive care strategies.
Dr. Ciaccio earned her MD from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed her internship and residency, as well as a fellowship, at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. She also possesses an MS in clinical research from the University of Kansas Medical Center.
