Prof. Greg Hartland appointed as Senior Editor of The Journal of Physical Chemistry

Greg Hartland, Professor of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry has been appointed as a Senior Editor of The Journal of Physical Chemistry for a two-year term, starting August 1st, 2009. The Journal of Physical Chemistry is the premier journal for publishing research in physical chemistry. It has separate weekly issues devoted to dynamics and spectroscopy, soft matter and biophysics, and nanomaterials and interfaces, and accounts for over 20% of the total articles in published in American Chemical Society journals. Prof. Hartland will join the Notre Dame Editorial Office of The Journal of Physical Chemistry, which is headed by Prof. Prashant Kamat, the Executive Editor of the journal. Prof. Hartland's research program involves understanding the how optical properties of nanomaterials depend on size, shape and structure. He has been on the faculty at the University of Notre Dame since 1994, and also currently serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics.
