PINDU a success

Author: Alec Hipshear

The content of the conference covered the entire spectrum of inorganic chemistry, including topics such as metal-organic frameworks, porphyrin chemistry, nano-materials, actinide chemistry, solid-state chemistry and bio-inorganic chemistry.  Approximately 100 chemists were in attendance and a total of 65 posters were presented along with nine oral presentations by graduate students from the universities.  This year’s conference had the largest number of presenters ever at PINDU. Awards were given to Wenjun Liu of Indiana University for the best oral presentation and Nikhilendra Singh of Purdue University for the best poster.  The organizers, Bea Blanc and Jeff Bertke, would like to thank the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, the College of Science and the Office of Research for funding.
