Instrumentation funding for Nanostructure Analysis


This award is to construct a novel instrument for ultrafast emission and absorption measurements on single nanostructures.  The initial projects that will be pursued are to examine charge carrier relaxation and multiple exciton generation in semiconductor nanowires and carbon nanotubes.  These experiments are integral to developing the next generation of sensitized, nanostructured solar cells. The researchers involved are Profs. Hartland, Kuno, Kamat and Huang.
