Research Interests

Understanding and control of molecular transport on the nanometer length scale; molecular basis of electrokinetic phenomena; molecular assemblies in active chemical separations.

Spatially anisotropic surfaces and control of motion of molecular and supermolecular objects.

Development of new optical spectroscopic measurement strategies for surface and interfacial structure-function studies especially directed toward understanding of the solid-solid and solid-liquid interfaces.

Optoelectronic materials and devices; surface modification of electronic properties; inelastic light scattering for characterization of complex heterostructures; semiconductor interfaces.

Molecular nanoelectronics; nanoscale analogs of macroscopic electronic and photonic devices.
